LEVEL 1- Basic Free Access

 

You can start right now.
Level 1 classrooms are self-directed, online. There are no tuition fees. That’s right, FREE! These classrooms 1A, 1B, and the monthly album listening parties are designed so that you can jump right in, ASAP.

On the first Sunday of each month, get your copy of the free meditation, read the online forum, and-or listen to our “radio show” format. Simply watch the topics unfold, or chime in via text-chat if you have a comment or question about meditation. You must RSVP at the upcoming events page to get the zoom links.

Level 1 live meditation classes. These are free live events, everyone’s invited to check it out (even just to say hi to our crew!) regardless of past experience with meditation. Register at the Upcoming Events page for zoom links, and/or directions to in-person classroom locations.

LEVEL 2- Upgraded Access

 

Tuition fees apply for Level 2. The paid programs of Level 2 classrooms go deeper into the nuts-and-bolts foundations of how and why to meditate than the free classes can. You can take these Level 2 classes in any order you’d like.

Keystone Membership

The Keystone Membership is an upgrade that includes everything in Level 1, plus additional benefits. The format is a type of “backstage pass” to Mindful Boston Records with bonus exclusive content on each monthly album of guided meditations and podcasts.

Classroom 2A/B

Explore questions such as:

"How do I choose between the different types of meditations?"

"Am I doing meditation right?"

"How do I establish a foundational practice?"

The Meditation Toolbox

A six-week overview of meditation. One hour of class work per week for six weeks. In-person [2A] and online [2B] options are available.

  • Meditation Toolbox Course [In-person learning: Classroom 2A]

The Meditation Toolbox gives you a structured introduction to what it means to meditate. Over the course of six weeks, this course introduces you to a number of the currently popular formats for meditation: Mindfulness, Creative Visualization, Progressive Relaxation, etc.

  • Utility Belt Course [Companion Course 2B]

    The online components of the Toolbox are designated as Classroom 2B. We call this course the “Utility Belt” since it’s an online companion to the Toolbox that you can take home with you.

Organizational
Learning Series

Classrooms 2C and 2D

Each workplace program is a six-hour workshop. One day. Includes lunch. Bring meditation tools to your organization’s staff retreat.

  • Bypassing Burnout Workshop [Classroom 2C]

For anyone facing burnout.
Using an instructional workbook, each participant will explore techniques that can be personally effective in real life at the office and at home. The workbook includes creating an individualized action plan for continued practice into the future.

  • Mission In Action Workshop [Classroom 2D]

For nonprofit and mission-driven organizational staff and managers.
Re-visit the foundations of your organization’s mission statement in order to find inspirations for moving forward. Includes key materials from the Bypassing Burnout Workshop.

  • From Alarm To Calm [Classroom 2E]
    A daylong workshop to explore states of rest.

If you've become untethered in these times, sign up for this experience of solid grounding. Yoga and deep breathing exercises are interwoven with study sessions. Learn evidence-based mindfulness tools. You'll take home a workbook of ideas for more steady mooring as life flows forward. Workshop includes brunch, treats, and a workbook.

 

LEVEL 3- Accessing deepening practice

 

In a level 3 classroom, the student builds up to a daily practice. Prerequisite: Complete at least one of the Level 2 classrooms listed above.

 

Classroom 3A

Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction

MBSR

The 8 week format for stress reduction and pain management as developed at the UMass Medical School. Includes 45 minutes of daily homework and a silent All Day Retreat.

Classroom 3B

All Day Retreat

Prerequisite: MBSR graduation. The All Day Retreat is seven hours of silent meditation.

Discussion Forum 3

Forum 3 is a podcast produced alongside the MBSR coursework. This podcast fleshes out meditation terminology as we dive into how to integrate meditation into real life, navigating stress and pain management, growing towards happiness.

Level 4- Aspiring Teachers

 

Level 4 classrooms are for exploring meditation as an artform, building the skills for teaching meditation to others. The daily practice of meditation that you have established during the previous three training levels is the foundation for sharing wisdom.

 

Classroom 4A

Meditation Teacher Training Classroom

Collaborate with other aspiring-teachers on curriculum development for the populations you serve.

Classroom 4B

Craftsman-Level Teacher Training Apprenticeship

Learn by doing. Apprentice with a senior teacher.

Professionals in careers such as education, arts, therapy, medicine, etc, are being expected to offer mindfulness to clients. But getting properly trained can be an issue! Mindful Boston’s Level 4 programs offer support and training for these situations.

Classroom 4C

Level 4 Scholars And Researchers

Not everyone wants to teach. Intermediate to advanced students have the option to enroll in Level 4 studies in order to further their personal knowledge.

Meditation Portfolios

Forum 4 is a podcast run by our aspiring meditation teachers. Each Craftsmen Level teacher is required to create a portfolio of meditations. It is a requirement for graduation, and also a great way to start making a name for themselves. This podcast is where the public can experience the results of Mindful Boston’s teacher trainings.

Level 5 & 6- Service

 

Mindful Boston volunteers, interns, and staff are considered either level 5 or level 6.

Classroom 6A

Volunteering or interning? 6A is the staff training classroom.

Contact us to ask for an application form. Summer internships are unpaid and training starts in May. Work is from June thru Sept 1st. We’re currently looking for media ambassador interns to work remotely.

 

Forum 6

Level 6 Forums include administrative meetings and staff retreats. We have a summer camping retreat for meditation, fun, and the school’s graduation ceremony.
