[MBLI] Mindfulness-Based Living with Intention

Tentatively scheduled to start on Sunday, April 21, 2024 2pm to 4:30pm. Check back in early February 2024 for finalized dates.

Mindful Boston’s Level 3 training, called MBLI, Mindfulness-Based Living with Intention, is an 9-session intensive classroom based very closely on the MBSR program developed by Jon Kabat-Zinn at the UMass Medical School.

Format:

  • Nine Sundays. April 21st thru June 23rd. Next year: 2024

  • Eight of the classes are 2.5 hours long.

  • There is a all-day, seven hours long, silent retreat day during week seven. Class #8 is then for wrap-up and integration after the retreat day.

Intentions:

  1. Each student builds a daily meditation practice with classroom guidance and “homework” recorded audio.

  2. We engage fully as a group in a conversation about the pains and the joys of human life. Many of the classroom conversations are about changing a relationship to physical and emotional pain through the practice of mindfulness meditation.

It was those underpinnings that were throwing off the balance between my professional and personal life.

FULL REFERRAL LETTER…

I attended my first Mindful Boston Forum almost 20 years ago.

At the time there was an imbalance between my professional and personal life that I wasn't aware of. The result was that my personal life suffered and I was constantly stressed and anxious at work.

After participating in that forum, I discovered that the teacher, Gena Bean, had an ability to offer a new perspective, to see what I could not. She has an ability to shed a light on the underpinnings that caused the stress and discomfort. It was those underpinnings that were throwing off the balance between my professional and personal life.

With that insight both my personal and professional life improved. I have since participated in more of Gena Bean’s meditation forums and have used what I learned there many times over. I want to emphasize how positive the results have been by using Gena’s guidance and instruction.
